Membership Information

Joining RAG as a member has many benefits. These are identified below.

RAG has an active Junior Members section. Further details of this Group can be found on the separate Junior Members page of the website.

 

  Benefits of joining Rosliston Astronomy Group as a member include:

  • access to all meetings and events throughout the year, including 'Members' Only' observing sessions.
  • the option to attend RAG's mid-month 'Introducing Astronomy' workshop meetings.
  • the option to attend 'Members' Only' sessions in the Peter Bolas Observatory
  • the option to hire certain items of club equipment e.g. a telescope, with attachments.
  • eligibility to vote in RAG's AGM, and thus influence Club policy.
  • the option to join one or more of the Special Interest Groups
  • access to the 'Members' Only' section of the RAG Website, for tips and informationin greater depth on all aspects of Astronomy .
  • advice on buying Equipment
  • practical 'How to' guidance e.g. setting up a telescope, navigating the night sky, 'making' tips, etc.
  • individual Tuition

 

In addition to the above, one of the most valuable benefits of being a Member of RAG is the camaraderie that you experience when you attend any session, inside or out. You join a friendly, welcoming group of people, generous with their knowledge and assistance whether you are a complete Beginner or an experienced Astronomer.

Membership is an Annual Subscription of £20 - due in January each year.

Membership for Junior Members (children/young people under 16 years) is Free.
